Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is based on my experiences of working with students as I tutor, observing many teachers, and teaching myself as well as what I have learned from my education classes and what has proved to work well statistically. I believe that as a teacher I have three goals:
-
To provide students a safe, positive, learning environment for students.
-
To create interest and inspire a desire for learning.
-
To provide a foundation for students for lifelong learning.
To accomplish these goals I plan to use cognitive constructivism and social constructivism learning theories. This includes using 5E lesson plans, formative assessments as well as promoting students to explore and discover learning both in groups and for themselves.
As a teacher I want to inspire the desire to learn beyond just passing the test.
